Top Tips On How To Get The Best Shine From Your Car

We all love that brilliant shine of a new car in the dealer’s showroom or at an auto show. There are hundreds of car care products and treatments available. The question is what works best and how do you do it?

First, you must properly clean and wash your car. Polishing and waxing a unclean car is sure to leave hairline scratches from dirt and debris on the car. Proper car washing and cleaning should be a main staple of any car care regimen or treatment. It is a proven fact that cars that receive routine car washes will last longer (as evidenced in a recent Popular Mechanics magazine). To properly wash your car, first rinse it off. Get the whole car wet and try to spray off any loose dirt and debris. Then use specific car wash soap (regular household items and chemicals are usually too harsh and can strip the wax or sealant right off) and a soft sponge or towel. Wash one panel or area at a time and rinse when done so the suds and soap won’t dry on the paint. When done dry off the car with clean terry towels or microfiber towels (a chamois works great also).

Next, examine your car. Look at the bumpers, behind the tires, the roof, etc… Are there any contaminants like bug splatter, bird droppings, tree sap, etc… that are still there after washing? You can try and rewash these areas with a little more pressure to try and loosen them up. If they still don’t come off, you will need a contaminant remover. This is a spray and each has their own unique formula and set of directions. Some are similar to foaming glass cleaners and others are a thick emulsion that will sit right on the problem area and not drip off. These contaminant sprays will remove most stuck on road debris and there are formulas specifically for road tar and tree sap as they can be more difficult. Follow the directions and then rinse and dry.

To smooth out any imperfections in the paint we recommend a cleaner wax. According to a study by Consumer Reports of every wax currently produced it was found that Turtle Wax was the best for value, durability and shine. So, there is no need to waste your money on expensive treatments that will not deliver a finish as well as a $2 bottle of Turtle Wax. Apply the cleaner wax in small circular motions and do one panel at a time, same as you did with car washing. Let the cleaner wax dry to a white haze and then buff with a clean terry cloth. Repeat as necessary.

Next, what we recommend is that you use a polymer car polish (again, there is no need for expensive treatments – you are just wasting your money). A good polymer car polish can be obtained at Walmart for between $2 and $5. They always come as a liquid and are very easy to apply and really do last longer than any car wax (up to 1 year and 50 car washes as some labels state). Apply to the whole car and buff dry. Apply 2-3 coats for maximum protection.

After the car polish we recommend a high class carnauba wax (again there is no need for expensive treatments). Turtle wax platinum car wax is around $5-$7 and so are some Meguiars and Mothers top waxes. This will give you a better than new deep and wet looking shine. Apply 2 coats in similar fashion to the cleaner wax. Wait until you see the resultant shine from wax on top of polish. It is unbelievable and gives your car the best shine possible and also the maximum protection available. This is how they get that extra deep shine on cars at the auto shows – it works and you will be amazed.

Top Reasons Why You Need to Hire an Auto Accident Lawyer

Being in a car accident can be a frightening and devastating experience. Whether your injuries are minor or major, the trauma and anguish of going through such an event can be paralyzing. No matter what, it is essential that you have legal counsel at your aid in the event of a car accident. Otherwise, you risk losing your rights and being taken advantage of by insurance companies and other parties involved in the accident.

As an injured person in a car accident, you are the victim of the carelessness of another person or of circumstances beyond your control, and you don’t really want to be one again. If you don’t seek qualified legal assistance this could be a real possibility. When you are involved in a car accident and don’t hire a lawyer, you can become a puppet of the underhand tactics of insurance companies and others.

If you assume that car insurance companies will adhere to the law and not cross their boundaries, you are being naïve. In reality, those companies will usually do whatever it takes to avoid payment. You may be found guilty of an accident you did not cause, if another driver makes false claims and the police believe him or her. An expert car accident attorney will help you in this situation, ensuring that your rights are protected and you are harmed again.

Letting the insurance companies and law enforcement authorities handle the situation is a problematic situation. To assume that they will keep your legal rights in mind is foolish, you are going to be taken advantage of and they will have their way no matter what. An accident victim may miss out on the compensation that they are owed. A person may be at fault in an accident and face fines and penalties which they do not deserve. Medical care is of utmost importance after a car accident. The next thing you should do before working with any car insurance company is hire an experienced and capable attorney. This can provide you with the much-needed mental relief. Keeping everything aside, anytime you are the victim of a car accident you should seek legal assistance to avoid becoming a victim twice over.

Car accident victims require attorneys and until they retain one, the insurance companies know that they’re dealing with someone who does not know the laws as well as they do. In the absence of a lawyer, a person who is stressed is dealing with the financial, physical and an emotional consequence of an injury is more likely to accept a settlement which is unfair.

Car and truck accidents can be prevented in many circumstances. If the driver was drunk or intoxicated, this is especially true. The lawyers are familiar with the issues related to drunken driving cases. They have conducted many investigations and read many reports of alcohol levels and toxicology reports.

Things a Car Accident Lawyer can do for you:

• Obtaining payment for your medical bills

• Obtaining compensation for your lost wages

• Obtaining compensation for a permanent injury

• Filing a Civil Remedies notice

• Filing a lawsuit

• Attending a pursuit mediation

• Completing an accident investigation, obtain the police report, take scene photos

If you have been involved in an auto accident, an accident attorney is going to be crucial in your case. Unless you are skilled in law, insurance, and negotiation, handling all of the things a lawyer can do for you is going to be difficult at best.

Top Ways to Save on Auto Insurance

When you get a car, you need to have auto insurance. It is important to get coverage that is comprehensive, but also inexpensive. While most people care a great deal about getting a good price when they first set out to get car insurance, they often fail to continue searching thereafter. Not continually looking for good deals can cost you hundreds each year.

Many people are unaware that the cost of your auto insurance can be lowered to help you save, depending on your driving record, your car, and where you are.

Increase Your Deductible

If you insurance the amount you pay for a deductible, it will reduce the cost of insurance fees. Now understand that this move is certainly one way to save on the costs month to month, but if you end up in a car accident, then yes it can end up costing you more to fix the damages.

However, if you have a history of being a safe driver, try it out and set some money aside for an emergency fund to cover unexpected car costs.

Try Carpooling

There are some insurance companies which actually track mileage, so the less you drive, the cheaper your coverage. With these policy types, if you drive less than 7,500 miles you get the lowest rate, and anything up to 13,000 is the medium rate.

Change Plans to What You Need

It is better for you to change plans to what you need, when you need them. Buying a brand new car is going to require different insurance compared to an older car. When you are paying off your car loan you will need collision and comprehensive coverage, but once it is paid off you have many more insurance options at your disposal.

You might end up with more collision insurance than you need. In fact, on older cars it is recommended that you drop collision insurance anyway because comprehensive coverage is comparable inexpensive and will give you all the coverage you need.

Combine Policies

If you have car insurance and renters/homeowners insurance through different companies, you might be able to combine your policy with one company and stack discounts.

Check for Discounts

If you have changed jobs, moved somewhere new, or anything else, keep track of your policy options. You might be able to get a cheaper policy in a new town or with a new job.

Check Your Credit

Your credit score has a small role to play in what your insurance costs are. So pay your bills on time and make sure you work hard to improve your credit score. As you are doing so, continually check to see if you now qualify for lower rates.

Other Discounts

As a student, good grades can earn you discounts. As an adult, see if you can take an adult driver safety program from better discounts. Consider avoiding a red colored car, as these come with higher insurance rates for users compared to other colors.
